DR NISHAT ZAKARIA

Nishat Zakaria is an academic researcher in dermatology, having earned her PhD from King’s College London. Her doctoral research explored the roles of zinc and copper in inflammation, uncovering how other elements contribute to inflammatory processes and ageing. Through this work, she identified specific mechanistic pathways that can be targeted for therapeutic intervention, with her findings published in leading research journals.

With expertise in human ageing and regenerative health, she investigates the intricate biochemical mechanisms underlying disease. She is currently developing a patented wound healing application, integrating scientific innovation with a deep understanding of skin regeneration.

Driven by a passion for translational research, her goal is to improve outcomes for patients struggling with wounds, scarring, and inflammatory skin conditions—areas where effective solutions are often limited. By bridging the gap between research and application, she aims to advance skin health and accelerate healing.
